here at a Thousand Hills Farm, we have a deep appreciation for works of the hands- arts, crafts, woodwork, farming, building…

For the past couple years, my little family has had the great fortune of getting {handmade} gifts from Yolanda at Graves Gap Knitting. Just the past year, she’s been working on projects for the studio, which you can see just a few of those below:

Christmas Eve, as we were sharing gifts with my mom and sister, my boys opened their gifts Yolanda sent them from {my home state} Alabama…

I’d been working on a little something for her and now I could add photos of these log cabin blankets she’d worked so hard on for more than a year…

new year’s day, the boys and I went and played a little in the yard…

the baby is particularly attached to his …

we then made a photo book {a yearbook of sorts} of all Yolanda’s 2011 handiwork…

{it was a surprise}

reliable sources have told me she loved it…

these little guys love their blankets and sleep with them every night…

every morning, after my cup of coffee…

I’ve been contemplating a PO box for a little while since I’m nearly every morning at the post office anyway…

which just happens to be a short little jaunt from the farm…

and it’s one of those little post offices that’s been on the list of potential closures…

and I’m on a mission to keep it open…

so for those of you who have received a package from Liz Thomas Photography…

this is where it left from…

I love this little village!

It was sort of by chance…and sort of by providence…

for a handful of days, I’ve been announcing my new address as another box number…

and then, last night, I dreamed that #1 was open and that’s the one I got…

so, this morning, I was in there shipping something and just happened to ask (because it I thought it was neat that I live somewhere that I could have a double-digit box #)

if there were any single digit boxes open…

and much to my surprise, she said that #1 was open…

and since her computers had been down, she had not submitted my other request,

“would you like box #1…it’s an easy switch…”

How cool is that?

I LOVE this little village!
